Bell Ringing at Clive Church
The bells at Clive Church are an exceptional example of the late Victorian development in true harmonic tuning in a very early example of a cast iron bell frame. They are the 11th heaviest peal of six bells in the world. Over the years they had become more difficult to ring but the refurbishment undertaken in 2014 replaced all the bearings and they now ring as had been intended when originally installed in 1894.
Everyone, whether first time beginners or experienced ringers is welcome to join in the bell ringing at Clive Church. Bell ringing practice takes place every Friday between 19.00 and 20.15 hours. Either just come to a practice session on a Friday evening or contact the Bell Captain, Gareth Jones, on 01939 234076 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
